About this session
Teachers are now conflicted with teaching “hard history” because of the recent changes by the Texas Senate in SB 3. How teachers construct their delivery of “hard history” will need to be reformed by training teachers to be facilitators, training students to engage in civil discourse, hearing shared community stories, and beginning in the earlier years to grow students into learners at the secondary level who are accustomed to engaging in possibly uncomfortable conversations. The panelists are classroom teachers who will explore these reforms for teaching “hard history” and share their stories with you.
