Danielle King is an associate professor of Industrial and Organizational Psychology at Rice University and the Principal Investigator of the WorKing Resilience Research Laboratory. Her research focuses on the topics of employee resilience, thriving, motivation, leadership, and stigma. Her work has been funded by the National Science Foundation and has been published in both peer-reviewed scientific journals, such as the Journal of Applied Psychology and the Academy of Management Journal, and in popular media outlets, including Harvard Business Review. She received her B.A. in Psychology from Spelman College and her M.A. and Ph.D. in Organizational Psychology from Michigan State University.
Dr. King is a 2022 recipient of the American Psychological Association Achievement Award for Early Career Psychologists and was designated by the Association for Psychological Science as one of the 2023 “Rising Stars.”
Dr. King is interested in the intersection of diversity, leadership, and employee well-being and has taught in the Glasscock School’s Facing Race Series and the Pre-college K-12 Program.
