Creating Equity in the Virtual Classroom

About this session

Principals and teachers are concerned about equity and access to resources as we continue virtual schooling. For principals, concerns may include how to provide instructional resources to their teachers and young students, helping children and families secure the food they need, and connecting families to appropriate health care resources. Teachers are seeking clarity on how to build the rapport and trust with parents critical to helping children learn virtually as well as reaching out to schools for assistance with basic needs. The Rice Education team and practicing educators will have a conversation about addressing these needs, overcoming any obstacles and supporting classrooms of equity in a virtual school setting.
